Pure Curvation Shoot II: Yvonne Gumbere

On the 1st April, I went back for the 2nd Pure Curvation shoot of the year.


Today I was shooting Yvonne Gumbere, a reasonably new recruit at Pure Curvation. I picked Yvonne and Charmaine Charuma up from their homes and made my way to Pete Baldrey's for the shoot.


Now Yvonne is quite something. She was obviously a talented model from the first time that Pete worked with her a short while back and she didn't fall short on our shoot either.


Just a portfolio update but I have to say, the girl is fantastic.

Beautiful eyes, stunning figure and legs up to here...

She's just got it.

We just did the two outfits, the above, which you've seen, and then, Yvonne had this gorgeous dress.

 Towards the end of our reasonably short session, Yvonne also broke out the moves!

This left one being my favourite.

The photoshopping effect on the skin (left image) is pretty neat, I've found. It is done using a black and white adjustment layer and then a duplicate of the original layer on the top using the overlay blending technique. I find personally that it's a great effect on black skin (as it gives it a shiny, semi-metallic feel... on white skin, it just looks crap XD ) and on men (mainly when they have stubble) as it gives a kind of dirty, rough feel to their images.

So they were my picks from the shoot.

I would most definitely recommend Yvonne as a model. We had a very short time together and there were loads of fantastic choices from this shoot. She's very open, excitable, determined and also very talented (which helps). If you're looking for someone to liven up your image, Yvonne is your girl.

Ceri & Mary: A Little Contrary

Always nice to have a little rhyme...

Anyway, Ceri Williams and Mary Luke are storming my blog again.

Following a day out to Camden with myself and Mary's significant other, Pete, these two came for a shoot on Sunday 19th January with all sorts of crazy things with them... O_o

It was just a fun day to prat around a bit and get some images together. Let's say a warm-up for when they force me to take pictures of them in Cosplay attire... *shudder*

We started with a masquerade themed set:

Love this first one.

As you may well know, I've done a Masquerade shoot before (my first shoot with Kiera Gould) and so, whilst this was fun, I wasn't too fussed about getting images for my own portfolio from this set. I have to say though. That first one is already in it. Bing.

This one of Mary is also fantastic, I think. She's got a lovely mood in it and I love it as a profile shot.

Here they are together. Aww.

And now Ceri isn't fond of this one (below, right) as she thinks she looks gormless but I really like it...

What do you folks think?

Also, this one of Mary (above, right) is pretty spot on for capturing her lovely happy disposition!

Mary just has the loveliest happy-face. :) 

... and of course, then there's Pikachu*:

 *Pikachu was a 'sorry' gift for Ceri from someone who accidentally sliced open her eye with a playing card that morning... (rather skillfully, I might add). Caused a lot of bloody Photoshopping on her eye as it fell out before the shoot... I jest...

Next, the pair had brought these RIDICULOUS Robot Unicorn fairy tutus:

I was not shooting them in these. I completely refused.

You're welcome.

But we did have a bit of fun with them all the same. Observe:

 And then Ceri left for Sunday dinner whilst Mary and I got busy with some Burlesque images:

Feather fans bought lovingly by the previously mentioned Pete.

And aren't they PRETTY!

I think Mary and I will possibly be doing some more Burlesque a bit later on with some more fancy costumes.

To finish off, we got a few images of Mary in her new underbust corset.

Jo Wood: Inside and Out!

For my shoot with Jo Wood (Pure Curvation models) I met with her at 10am in Cranleigh and we had a quick cup of tea and then went straight out to find the gardens where we got our 'Alice' pictures as I like to call them. Reason being, Jo had a beautiful blue dress (with little white rabbits on) and of course, those big blue eyes.

I'll show you.

This one was taken in a sculpture garden in Ockley which we poked around and found to be incredibly interesting!

Then, on the way back, we found a beautiful hydrangea bush that matched Jo's dress perfectly and so we made an emergency stop and got the following image. Pleasantly lit by the lovely Mr. Sun.

Next we found a gorgeous iron wheel. So, naturally, Jo changed in the car and promptly started climbing on it! (Can't take her anywhere). Meaning we got this one:

And then there were also some pretty pillars. So she started draping herself all over them too ;) Giving us this rather lovely headshot:

It got to about 1pm (I think) and we got back to Pete Baldrey's to do a bit of work in the studios. We started on black and Jo brought a stunning vintage golden jumpsuit, which it turned out, was rather tight around the bum! The colours were lovely and played out rather lovely against the black.

By this point we were joined by Nickilee Hallett (another Pure Curvation model!) who was also shooting that day (their shoot details can be seen on Pete's blog here)! We had a giggle and then we tried a little something else on the black!  We decided to get a little bit cheeky and colourful and I think it's safe to say, that even with more colours, nothing stands out quite as much as those icy blue iris'!

And finally, our last look was actually a first for Jo. We decided to get a little bit rocky with a band t-shirt which shall remain anonymous (;)) and some skinny jeans. The make up was a bit darker and we had a small zigzag design pencilled onto her undercut making her look much punkier!:

I loved working with Jo and definitely hope to again! I think we got some awesome looks on this day and I think she enjoyed it too! ;D
